New York, NY—June 11 , 2008. On Friday, May 30, 2008, Harlem United celebrated the opening of its new congregate housing residence at 150 West 124th Street in Harlem. The facility will provide 25 studio apartments dedicated to medically-frail, homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and offer supportive services to keep residents healthy and connected to medical care.

Harlem United thanks U.S. Senators Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Gordon Smith (R-OR) for the Senate’s passage of an amendment (to the 2009 federal Budget Resolution) creating a reserve fund to expand access to vital medical services for low-income, HIV-positive individuals.
