The Enhanced Mental Health program provides psychotherapeutic services through individual and group psychotherapy and is an integral part of the multiple services provided by the ADHC at Harlem United. Our target population is adults with a HIV positive diagnosis.
Individual sessions can be long or short term based on the individuals needs and /or presenting problems. Some of the groups offered are as follows Gay Men of Color, Bereavement, Anger Management and Man’s Work Group.
Each individual is identified via the case manger with discussion with the client or the client may request the service. Referrals are reviewed for appropriateness via the Clinical Director. Once the referral is made the psychotherapist will complete a Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment. Every 90 days a Quarterly Mental Health is completed to monitor progress on treatment goals and barriers to obtainment of goals
The client and psychotherapist form a working relationship that also involves the psychiatrist, case manger and medical as well as any other member of the multidisciplinary team. Couples or family sessions can also be provided if needed.
