Women's Housing
The Women’s Housing Program aspires to assist persons to acquire personal medical stability, independent living skills, to participate in a model of intervention that promotes disease management and stability through connection to and maintenance in primary medical care. Harm reduction, recovery readiness, relapse prevention, addiction education, and the reduction of high risk behavior are among the tools used to ultimately improve the quality life for each of our program members. The Women’s Housing Program aims to foster Harlem United’s mission to provide 100% access to and maintenance in care and obtain zero disparity in health outcomes caused by racial and economic barriers.
To be eligible for admission to the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Single women/women with children living with HIV/AIDS
- HASA (HIV/AIDS Services Administration) eligible
- Persons who are challenged with addiction, mental health and functional living skills problems/issues such that they could benefit from an intensified program that can assist in the development and improvement of their life skills, engage residents in clinical support services that foster recovery and housing readiness, and assists with permanent housing placement

- Substance Use Assessment and Counseling
- Mental Health Assessment and Counseling
- Medical Monitoring and Medication Adherence
- Apartment Unit Maintenance/Environmental Safety Support
- Housing Referrals and Placements
- Entitlement Assistance and Advocacy
- Linking/Referrals for Legal Assistance
- Weekly Case Management Home Visits
- Family Reunification
