As a public health student, I believe that working to alleviate the burden that HIV/AIDS patients carry is an important task, and would like to support the efforts that Harlem United is making improve access to care, HIV education, housing, and other services here in New York City. I have been blessed with good health and would therefore like to work hard in training and running to help those who have not been similarly blessed. While my contribution will only be a small step in the seemingly unending “marathon†that is the fight against HIV/AIDS, I hope that my doing so will both be beneficial to Harlem United and also inspire my peers to do something similar.
