Director of Individual Giving, Strategic Advancement

The Director of Individual Giving will play a leadership role in raising financial support from individual donors and corporate sponsors through the identification and securing of individual, foundation and corporate gifts and grants. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Strategic Advancement, they will also increase donor awareness and engagement through the implementation of a few small annual in-person or virtual events to build donor networks. With the support of senior staff, they will develop and sustain a pipeline of regular donors, creating major gifts and annual giving programs. The Director of Individual Giving will have responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of individual giving, such as prospect management, gift processing, and stewardship, while also submitting a regular quota of foundation/corporate grant applications. Education and Certification: A Bachelor’s degree is required (English, Communications, Journalism, Social Work) A Master’s in a related field is preferred (i.e., public health, sociology, public administration, communication, journalism); Extensive, successful work-experience may substitute formal education requirements; 3-5 years of fundraising experience preferred; Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritizing work and managing multiple,
diverse, and competing priorities while meeting deadlines; Preference for those with working experience in non-profits or healthcare agencies and an understanding of HIV/AIDS, homelessness, and/or other barriers faced by underserved communities; and Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Raiser’s Edge or another donor database software.
