Educational/Wellness Counselor, Housing

The Educational/Wellness Counselor reports to the Program Director or their designate and is responsible for professional development with program members, life skills education, and training activities. This includes, but is not limited to:  working with the treatment team to assist program members with professional development, independent living skills through group work and case work models; developing and implementing a life skills training curriculum through the modality of meaningful activities designed to meet both individual and group needs; foster interpersonal and self-care functional skills that are appropriate and sufficient in scope to assist program members in their physical, mental, and life skills goals; and work with the clinical treatment team and program members to develop next step housing goals and options. Education and Certification: BA/BSW degree with one year of experience or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the area of life skills development and/or similar educational programming services.  Knowledge of homelessness, HIV/AIDS issues, mental health and harm reduction; strongly preferred.  Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred and experience working in a team integrated therapies model.  Computer literacy required.
