Mental Health Specialist, Housing

Responsible for provision and coordination of mental and physical health services, mental health counseling, follow up, home visit, social service referrals, and outreach.  Ensures compliance with contract services requirements, carries a caseload, retains regular contact with the clients, ensure clients are active in program responsibilities primarily in regard to health care.Education and Certificate:Masters in social work, psychology, etc. is desired with a working knowledge of mental health/substance use issues and interventions, or Bachelor Degree with 5 years’ experience in direct case service.  Solid oral and written communication skills, good time management, and a strong working knowledge/experience of HIV/AIDS, mental health issues and diagnoses, provision of mental health individual and group counseling is desirable.  Ability to work with and form linkages with community based mental health treatment centers for referrals and service.  An interest in professional growth within a health-driven social service agency is encouraged.   Supervisory experience and additional certificates or trainings a plus; bilingual Spanish is strongly desired but not required.
