Nurse Practitioner/ PrEP Coordinator, Primary Care

Under the supervision of the Medical Director and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner delivers high quality comprehensive primary care, with expertise in HIV, immigrant and homeless care. The AIDS institute Guidelines  and the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF)  are utilized as resources and guides for accepted standards of care. Education and Certification: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Licensed and Registered in New York State. Certified by either the American Academy Nurse Practitioners. BLS Certified. Achieves and maintains HIV specialist status. Possess or obtain within first 90 days of employment a DATA Waiver for Buprenorphine Prescribing authority. Accumulate a minimum of 15 HIV specific CME credits throughout the year and a minimum of 25 Credits total per year to maintain certification requirements. In addition to the providing Direct Patient Care, this provider will oversee the PrEP program in the Nest Community Health Center.  The program coordinator will ensure that high-risk negatives are identified and provided with education on PrEP and offered an opportunity to begin PreP.
